Requirements to join Lee County CERT:
·        Be a resident of Lee County, NC
·        Be at least 18 years of age
·        Complete the 21 hour CERT Basic Course

A CERT Basic course is normally offered at least once a year through Central Carolina Community College, and is free to US Citizens who are Lee County residents.  Due to COVID-19, in-person Basic C0urses have been suspended.  We hope to resume the course in the fall of 2021.  There is a online Basic Course available through the University of Utah at:  medicine.utah.edu/rmcoeh/about-us/outreach/cert/  The skills portion will be taught at a later date.

We invite anyone with an interest to attend out CERT meetings and trainings. 

Membership in Lee County CERT is maintained by acquiring at least 12 hours of training and/or volunteer time each year. Three hour blocks of training are offered on a monthly basis for 11 months of the year. Ample opportunities are also available to volunteer in community outreach efforts.

CERT membership means:
·        Receiving county issued CERT equipment and supplies, which the member retains during membership in the Lee County                     CERT program
·        Access to free monthly training 11 months of the year
·        Being part of an active, learning preparedness community
·        Being prepared to help yourself, your family and your  neighbors before and after a disaster
